Frequently Asked Questions
Is ClearSCADA the same as Geo SCADA?
Yes. Schneider Electric renamed ClearSCADA as EcoStruxure Geo SCADA Expert in 2019, and it is the same product line. Existing ClearSCADA systems can be upgraded, but the path depends on your starting version, drivers and custom code, so a test upgrade on a copy of the database comes first.
Are you part of Schneider Electric?
No. I'm an independent consultant. Licences, product support and software updates come from Schneider Electric and its partners; I help you design, configure, tune, extend and secure the system you have.
Why is my Geo SCADA system slow?
Common causes include historic and event data growing without archiving, Logic running far more often than it needs to, very complex mimics, under-specified disks, antivirus scanning live database files, and communications channels overloaded with polling. A health check measures each of these before recommending changes.
Can Geo SCADA run in the cloud?
